Our interactive workshops teach faculty how to model culturally competent behavior to their students, guide industry and organizational leaders in best practices to improve inclusion and belonging in their organizations, and facilitate cross-organizational initiatives.

Welcome! I’m Dr. Ruth and I am passionate about combining these three aspects of my career – clinical care, public health, and social justice
As a clinician and educator, I help students and residents acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure they become clinically and culturally competent doctors.
As a public health educator, I use data-driven methods and tools and personal experience to facilitate discussions and workshops on how best to address diversity, inclusion, equity issues within optometric educational institutions and organizations.
As a social justice advocate, I emphasize cultural competency and bias awareness training as a way to best address health disparities in the communities we serve, especially those who are most vulnerable.
